Why not Houston either? Dallas is a hell of a drive

Might not have been able to get a flight there for whatever reason.

If only Will knew ahead of time that he would need to travel to Austin this week.

He might have needed to be in Austin by the 29th, and had no other options at the moment. Yes, hindsight is 20/20, but what's done is done now, and this might have been the only option available to him at the moment.

Hmmm I might have seen him on I-35. Probably not.

It was probably cheaper to fly into Dallas and drive rather than fly into Austin.
I know someone who flew from North Carolina to Chicago, then to DC because the tickets for that were half of what a North Carolina to DC flight would have been.

I didn't know NBC was so short on cash

You never know, they did have exclusive Olympics coverage this year so that may have killed their budgets for the year.

Yeah—or there's a direct flight.
It's usually worth the drive over to Baltimore to get close to Philly just because there's a direct AUS > BWI one. No stopover. Minimal drive.
